HARMONY
How are we nurturing it in Vietnam kindergarten?
The answer is waiting for you at
The Social-Emotional Learning
community event in early education

EMPATHY IN ACTION
Why do we host
the Harmony Day?

Why has the headline "the teacher hit and yelled at children" appeared on news channels from time to time? Is that a daily occurrence in preschools?
What is behind the stress and pressure that preschool teachers cannot express and cannot be seen through a camera?
Why is there a current situation that parents - teachers - students are "connected" through CCTV? How does that connection affect the relationship that requires coordination and empathy between families and schools at the preschool level?
Instead of criticizing, and blaming, how schools - teachers - parents can cultivate the tree of understanding, supporting, and helping each other.
Instead of doubting, how can we build trust and cooperation between home and school, so that every schooling day of our children is a HARMONY DAY?
Only with understanding, we have compassion; with compassion, we can join hands to effectively transform violence. Starting from the perspective of sharing solutions, the Harmony Day community event with the theme "Empathy in Action" will create a space for families, schools, and communities to participate, experience and learn specific solutions to enhance harmony for a healthy preschool education environment.

Installing cameras to see how the teacher is teaching children in the classroom has gradually become a common practice in private preschools. The camera system can record very clearly and quickly all behaviors and daily activities in classrooms. So, is there something the camera cannot catch?
…is the wishes, the hope of every preschool teacher
…are the thoughts, sentiments, and challenges that any teacher may be going through in her private life.
…is the emotions, feelings, and concerns in every hour of interaction,
guiding children.
Cameras can capture behavior, but in the classroom, behind the behavior are living people with very lively real lives. And until those very real thoughts and feelings are expressed and empathically listened to, the roots of violence and tension can only be touched and transformed.
Preschool is not just about eating and sleeping. The role of early childhood education is not only to keep children safe and gain weight.
The reality is, a quality early childhood education program will strengthen children's healthy emotional and social development, rather than just physical growth and cognitive development.
Preschool is not only a place that takes care of children for 10-12 hours a day on behalf of parents, but also is the first learning space, creating a sense of security inside each child about where each child gradually matures throughout the coming years.
Preschool is children's second most important LIVING space!
